OBJECTIVEOFHEADCOACH,MAPLELEAFSSEVENSTEAM
TheassignedpersonwillperformtheroleofHeadCoachoftheMapleLeafsSevensTeam.Therolewill
beviewedasbeinganintegralandsignificantelementofthehighperformanceplayerpathwayprocess.
TheHeadCoach,MapleLeafsSevensTeamwillleadtheteamintheeventsoutlinedbelowandwillbe
responsiblefordevelopingasuccessfulteamenvironmentduringtheselection,preparationand
competitionstages.

• Work cooperatively with the National Senior Men’s Sevens Head Coach and Manager, NSM7s

• RelevantaccreditationrequirementstomeetthestandardsofRugbyCanada’scoachingpathway.
• Highlevelperformanceanalysisskills;
• ApersonalProfessionalDevelopmentPlanthatincorporatestheperson’sintenttopursuehigher
level learning and coaching accreditation accompanied by professional development via
workshops,clinics,etc.;
• Evidence of recently upgraded accreditation, recent attendance at coaching workshops or
evidenceofotherformsofselfeducationthatdisplayscurrencyasacoachwhocontinuestoseek
furtherdevelopment;
• Experience at managing assistant coaches and working co-operatively with team managers,
strengthandconditioningcoaches,teammedicalstaffandperformanceanalysispersonnel;
• Evidence of understanding of current best practice and a history of performing best practice
(preferablyrecentbestpractice)asitappliestorugbycoaching;
