ROAD BOOK for crew members
This « Runbook » is for runners and their friends, family or supporters to get closer to the race and attractions
You will find schedule of races and different attractions along the Ut4M path and all the traveler information to
get there
Have a fun race and a Enjoy a good time full of activities
Short guideline :
All assistance outside of refreshment checkpoints is strictly prohibited. Accompanying runners on the course is similarly
prohibited. If you don’t have a race bib, you can’t accompany a runner in the race.
At checkpoints, assistance is allowed.
- Race Start and Finish of Ut4M160 XTREM (solo & relay) : GRENOBLEPARC MISTRAL (Palais des Sports, Park Paul Mistral)
- Start Ut4M100 MASTER: Uriage
- Start Ut4M40 Vercors race : Grenoble (Parc Paul Mistral)
Start is at the same place (and same time) than Ut4M 160 Xtrem
- Start Ut4M40 Oisans Taillefer race : Vif
Start is at the place of the check point #3
- Start Ut4M40 Belledonne race : LA SALIGNIERE (Rioupéroux)
Start is is at the place of check point #8
- Start Ut4M40 Chartreuse race : Saint Nazaire les Eymes
Starting Line is at the place of check point #12
- Checkpoint #1 : St Nizier du Moucherotte
From the start, take the A480 towards Lyon, along Boulevard Foch and then Boulevard Joseph Vallier (follow the tram
lines). At the Catane bridge, go straight on towards Seyssinet-Pariset, then turn left towards St Nizier du Moucherotte
(D106). At St Nizier du Moucherotte, go left at the first roundabout towards the ski jump, taking Chemin du Belvédere
and then right into Chemin de la Montagne. Park at the car park and then walk to the ski jump.

- Checkpoint #2: LANS en VERCORS – Stade de Neige
From St Nizier du Moucherotte, take the D106 towards “Lans en Vercors” and then, a little before Lans, take the D106
towards “Stade de Neige”

station (Checkpoint #3) : VIF
No choice but towards go back to Grenoble, take the A480 (motorway) towards Sisteron , get off at the Vif exit after
the tunnel. Continue on the D1075 until entering Vif. pass the river bridge, then carry on along Avenue Rivalta di
Torino until the first roundabout. Take the first exit D63c Boulevard de la Résistance and then the first right (Rue de
19 Mars 1962). Car Park is just on the left in the College de Massegu and the checkpoint is in the multipurpose hall
next door.

- Checkpoint #4: LAFFREY
Return to the roundabout and turn right onto the D63 towards Vizille. Once you’ve been through St Georges de
Commiers, take the left towards Champ sur Drac (D63a-Rue des Isles, through a little tunnel). Once you get to Zic des
Artisans, turn right into Chemin des Artisans towards Notre Dame de Mésage, then right again into Chemin du Cloud.
Carry straight on along route Saint-Sauveur until Notre Dame de Mésage. Take the N85 towards Laffrey. At Laffrey,
after the first traffic lights the checkpoint will be on your left (at Camping Napoléon) before you get to the lake.

- Checkpoint #5: LA MORTE
Return along the N85 towards Vizille. At the Laffrey exit turn right towards Saint Barthélémy de Séchilienne (D113).
Continue on this route until, just before Saint Barthélémy, turn right onto the D114 towards the Alpe du Grand Serre.
Once in La Morte, carry straight through La Morte to La Blache. The checkpoint is at Résidence le Grizzli 3

- Checkpoint #6 : LAC DU POURSOLLET
Return along the main road towards Saint Barthélémy de Séchilienne (D114) and then take the fourth road on the
route (D114e Route du Poursollet) towards Lac de Poursollet. Go to the end of the road. The checkpoint is next to the
car park.

- Checkpoint #7 : CHALETS DE LA BARRIERE
This checkpoint can not be accessed by car. If you want to walk to this place from Poursollet: ask to volunteers,
they will give you all the information. It s a 1 hour walk to get there.
-Aid Station (checkpoint #8) : LA SALIGNIERE (Rioupéroux)
Return along the D114 until Saint Barthélémy de Séchilienne, and then take the D113 towards Séchilienne.
At Séchilienne, take the N91 towards Livet-Gavet (Rioupéroux) then, after Les Clavaux, you will be guided to your car
park. You must continue walking to the checkpoint - take the road on the left (route de l’Arcelle) towards Salignière.
The checkpoint is in the former school of Salignière.

- Checkpoint #9: LA CROIX DE CHAMROUSSE
Can not be accessed by car
For walkers, it will take around 1h15 to walk from the Chamrousse-Le Recoin station.
Return along the N91 towards Grenoble until Séchilienne town centre, then turn route at the crossroads towards col
Luitel. Carry straight on until the lake Luitel, then turn right along the D111 towards Chamrousse-Roche Béranger.
Continue until the Chamrousse-Le Recoin station.
At the station, continue on foot following the path to the Croix de Chamrousse. The gondola won’t be open until
9am Saturday morning
WARNING : this road ( Uriage - Chamrousse 1750) will be closed from Premol Point on Saturday from 10 am to 7
pm and on Sunday from 7 am to 7 pm due to Road racing
On Saturday morning, you can access by the other road going through Uriage (leading directly up to Recoin).

- Checkpoint #10: REFUGE LA PRA
Not accessible by car
For walkers, from the car park ‘crossroads of the 4 roads’ located 5km past Freydière (see below) follow the path
which goes up to the Crozet lake and then to La Pra
- Checkpoint #11 : FREYDIERES
From Chamrousse-Le Recoin, return back down towards Grenoble to Les Seiglières.
When you get to Saint Martin d’Uriage, turn right on to the D280 towards Revel on the route de Pinet, then continue
on route d’Allevard until Le Rousset. Then turn right along D280d towards Granges de Freydières. The checkpoint will
be opposite La Gelinotte restaurant.

- Aid station (checkpoint #12) and START of Ut4M 40 Chartreuse : ST
NAZAIRE LES EYMES
Return along the D280d until Le Rousset, and then continue on the D280 towards La Combe de Lancey/Villard
Bonnot.
At Lancey, keep straight towards A41 (Grenoble-Chambéry) / Saint Nazaire les Eymes.
Passing over the A41, take the first right at the roundabout and then next right (chemin du Moulin). Take the
third left, Chemin de la Mairie. The checkpoint is in the Cartier Million room next to the playing field.

- Checkpoint #13: HABERT DE CHAMECHAUDE
Not accessible by car
If you want to walk to this place, park in Sappey (see below, 14th checkpoint) walk along the path to Habert (5 km,
around 1 hour & 1/2).
- Checkpoint #14: LE SAPPEY
From Saint Nazaire les Eymes, take the A41 towards Grenoble centre. Take exit 27 Centre Commercial. At the
roundabout, turn left towards La Tronche centre. At the traffic lights, keep straight on. At the crossroads with avenue
du Grésivaudan, turn left then go straight down avenue du Cèdre. At the next crossroads, turn left along avenue
l’Eygala then go straight on along Grand Rue until the crossroads with La Route de Chartreuse. Turn right along D512
which rises until Sappey en Chartreuse. At Sappey, take the road on the right just before the church, then go straight
along chemin des Charmettes until the car park. The checkpoint is in the cross country skiing area

- Checkpoint #15: COL DE VENCE
From Sappey en chartreuse, Go back to D512 until col de Vence. The checkpoint is next to the parking

- Finish line : Grenoble-Parc Mistral
From Col de Vence, continue to go down on Road of Chartreuse (« Route de Chartreuse ») and then take Grand Rue
towards Grenoble city centre. Follow the » Quai des Allobroges » and then « Quai Xavier Jouvin ». At the crossraods,
turn left and then cross the bridge (rue Masséna) towards Saint Martin d’Hères. At the crossroads, carry straight on
along Boulevard du Maréchal Leclerc. Keep going in the direction of Saint Martin d’Hères and then follow Rue du 19
Mars 1962 until the next crossroads. Then turn right, taking Boulevard Jean Pain towards Grenoble centre. Carry
straight on and Park Mistral is on your left. The finish line is next to the Palais des Sports.
