The turnkey intralogistic installations comprise: • Automated storage & retrieval systems (ASRS ) • Manipulators & handling devices • Floor conveyance systems • Monorail systems • AGV systems • Special/custom crane systems • Control by WMS and MES with connection to ERP systems Solutions for: • High-bay warehouses and ComStore warehouses for heavy loads • Surface treatment lines • Production and assembly lines • Complete installations for manufacturing processes 21 Intralogistics Airbus – Hamburg, Germany Modernization of existing assembly building sites 660.3 - 670.B - 680.1 in Hangar 6 CTI Systems was awarded with modification and upgrade works on Airbus A319-A320-A321 series structure and equipping assembly line in Hamburg early in January 2012. This project concerns the three assembly building sites 660.3 670.B - 680.1 in Hangar 6 which are dedicated to the assembly of fuselage barrels and flooring of the series A319-A320-A321. The main purpose of this project was to raise the capacity for the manufacturing of these series and consisted in optimizing the accuracy of the assembly jigs, the energy efficiency as well as the ergonomics and working security conditions. Apart from the initial basic steel construction which was mainly repaint in order to achieve a friendlier and more brightly lit working environment, the whole assembly building sites were renewed: • Modernization of the working platforms, stairs and railings to improve security. • Replacement of the motors at the jigs to ensure their final position for more accuracy without any slackness and more energy efficiency. • Integration of special new feature in the automatic drilling system. 22 The accuracy of all points effecting the geometry of the aircraft had to be adjusted within a specified tolerance and was checked with latest Laser Tracker technology. This new project continues a successful history of CTI installations at Airbus and its affiliated companies. Intralogistics Kamensk Uralsky Metallurgical Works (KUMZ) – Kamensk Uralsky, Russia Fully automatic high-bay warehouse for aluminium coils The Russian aluminum processing company Kamensk Uralsky Metallurical Works (KUMZ) signed with CTI Systems an important order for their new milling facility near Ekaterinburg. Kamensk Uralsky Metallurgical Works is one of the largest downstream companies in Russia. KUMZ has a rich history as it was founded in 1944 as a manufacturer of semi-finished products in aluminium-, magnesium-based and aluminium-lithium alloys. Today they supply high quality aluminium plates, wide variety of extruded products (rods & bars, profiles of different shapes & wide railway extruded panels as well as aluminium tubes & drill pipes). KUMZ is also specialized in forged materials supplying die-forgings, handforgings, rolled rings, forged plates and bars to aerospace, military and automotive industries. On the premises of KUMZ a new rolling mill complex is being created. A complete cold rolling mill will be built in the first phase of the project. In phase 2, the establishment of a hot rolling mill follows. The order that CTI Systems has received from KUMZ consists in the design, manufacturing and installation of their first fully automatic high-bay warehouse for coils including stacker crane, outside operating automatic cranes and floor carriers as input/ output devices. Features of the high-bay warehouse: • 470 positions for coils with a maximum diameter of 2600 mm and a maximum weight of 26,5 tons. • Automatic storage and retrieval system with control by the CTI-WMS (Warehouse Management System). • Input or output is carried out by means of eight floor carriers, three of them with lift system. • The equipment and floor carriers are spanned by two automatic cranes with coil tongs. • Stacker crane takes over the coil from the floor carrier and transports it to the assigned storage position. • Data exchange between the customer’s resource management (ERP) and the CTI-MES (Manufacturing Execution System). Special feature in terms of energy-efficiency consists in a “natural cooling system”. Products from the hot rolling mill can have a temperature of up to 450°C and must be cooled during storage down to 40°C. In the sidewalls there are adjustable openings through which cold external air flows in and is led downwards. The heated air rises through the warehouse and escapes through openings in the roof. If necessary, fans can be turned on to support the air flow. 23 Intralogistics LuxairCargo - Luxembourg Modernization of PLC of Pharma Health Care Center Findel Luxembourg As a sign of confidence and in the frame of a long-term relationship, LuxairCargo has awarded CTI Systems with the modernization of its CargoCenter at the Luxembourg airport by integrating new temperature controlled storage facilities for the new Heathcare & Pharmaceuticals Center that will go into operation spring 2013. cells will be integrated into the full automatic loading and offloading process to and from the airside operated by automated ETVs (elevating transfer vehicles for airport cargo terminals). The 3000 m² facility offers two temperature-controlled zones with permanent temperature monitoring and fulfils all WHO and IATA requirements, as well as GDP compliance, which deals with guidelines for the proper distribution of medical products for human use. With six dedicated temperature-controlled truck docks, the layout of the infrastructure guarantees very short transit times from aircraft to truck and vice versa. CTI Systems’ role consists of replacing existing traditional storage places with temperature-controlled places inside the stacker system. The new cooling cells are equipped with insulated sectional doors. Due to availability reasons the whole new conveyor equipment will be supplied with galvanized surface. The new cooling Travelspeed 12 m/min. Payload 33000 kg Embraer Estruturas Compositos – Évora, Portugal CTI Systems was awarded with a project for the Portuguese composites plant of Brazilian aircraft manufacturer Embraer. The order includes design, manufacturing and installation of an automated system with one ASRS high-bay storage and two specialized AGVs. A single-lane cantilever type ASRS system stores various sizes of composite moulds up to 6,5 metric tons in six levels. The longitudinal axis of storage is variable, to allow a volume optimized distribution of moulds on each level. One omnidirectional flatbed tooling AGV, with a capacity of 6,5 metric tons, distributes moulds through different work centers of the plant. A high precision “Cup& Cone” system on the AGV and on appropriate floor stands provides positioning accuracy of the deposited load ±1 mm. The tooling AGV has automated loadidentification, load size-recognition and adapts automatically the safety scanner range to the load size. An omnidirectional flatbed autoclave AGV, with a carrying capacity of 33 metric tons transports racks with moulds to and from an autoclave oven. Both AGV types utilize a magnetic dot guided navigation system over concrete and steel flooring inside the autoclave. The CTI WMS (warehouse management system) manages the warehouse contents, as well as the AGV vehicles. The WMS linked to the customer’s MES (manufacturing execution system) and stationary automation with specific interfaces to work centers manage the client’s production process. 24 670 mm Automated system for a composite plant 90 00 m m m 0m 230 AUTOMATED GUIDED VEHICLES AUTOMATED GUIDED VEHICLES Integrated flexible floor transport solutions FLATBED OMNIDIRECTIONAL AUTOMATED GUIDED VEHICLE FOR HEAVY LOADS • In the aviation industry: safest transfer of fuselage segments. • In the print and paper industry for the automated transport of paper coils. • In the commercial vehicle manufacturing for the transport of voluminous chassis components from one work place to another. • In the railway industry for the manufacturing and maintenance of trains. • • • • • • • • • Payload up to 60 tons Travel speed up to 60 m/min.
