Après le petit déjeuner, départ pour le mont des Oliviers pour admirer la plus célèbre vue de Jérusalem. Le
mont des Oliviers, ‫ הזיתים הר‬en hébreu, est une colline à l'est de Jérusalem; il englobe en fait les deux
collines situées immédiatement au nord de celle-ci.
Le lieu est
important pour les trois religions monothéistes.
Descente vers le jardin des oliviers de Gethsémani et
la vallée du
Cédron nommée aussi vallée de Josaphat. Dans la
Bible,
Gethsémani ou Gethsémané est un lieu
désignant une
oliveraie au pied du mont des Oliviers, connu dans
les Évangiles
pour être le lieu où ont prié Jésus et les apôtres
avant
la
Crucifixion.
Continuation pour le chemin de croix se terminant
au
Saint
Sépulcre, la
plus
sacrée
des
basiliques
byzantines et croisées. Pour les chrétiens, le Saint-Sépulcre est le
tombeau du Christ, c'est-à-dire l'édicule (maintenant englobé dans
l'église du Saint-Sépulcre) construit sur la grotte où, selon certaines
traditions chrétiennes, le corps de Jésus de Nazareth aurait été
déposé après avoir été descendu de la croix à Jérusalem.
Déjeuner
Visite du Cardo, l'ancienne rue principale de la période romaine et byzantine et passage par les souks de la
vieille ville.

Promenade sur le mont Sion où se trouve le Cénacle, le lieu de la Cène. Le mont Sion (en hébreu : ‫)הר צִּיֹון‬
est une des collines de Jérusalem. Le nom de Sion est souvent pris comme symbole de Jérusalem. Le mont
Sion est situé au Sud-Ouest de la vieille ville de Jérusalem. Mur des Lamentations le lieu le plus sacré du
judaïsme. Le Mur occidental (hébreu: ‫הכותל המערבי‬, translit.: HaKotel HaMa'aravi), également appelé
HaKotel (« le Mur »), mur des Lamentations (arabe : il-Mabka) et, depuis les années 1920, El-Bourak,
est un mur de soutènement de l'esplanade du Temple, à Jérusalem-Est datant du premier siècle avant l'ère
commune, au temps de la construction du Temple de Hérode à la fin de l'époque du Second Temple.
Il est révéré par les juifs pour sa proximité avec le Saint des Saints, situé sur le mont du Temple et est de ce
fait considéré comme l'endroit le plus saint (généralement accessible) aux juifs pour la prière.
Le Mur occidental est également un symbole national israélien, et des cérémonies non intrinsèquement
religieuses s'y tiennent, notamment la commémoration des soldats morts
pour la patrie et des victimes du terrorisme anti-israélien.
