Après 25 ans d'activisme musical underground, Fredread sort un nouvel album de WEBCAM HI-FI
"feeding my faith", déjà 15ème réference (TDSR15LP), sur son label TUBE DUB SOUND
RECORDS.
Depuis 2004, Fredread a produit de nombreux riddims et de nombreux chanteurs tels que Kenny
Knots, Earl Sixteen, Anthony John, Carlton Livingston, Tony Tuff, Ranking Joe, Nya Azania,
Roberto Sanchez, Ranking Trevor, Trevor Junior et bien d'autres...
Toutes ces productions sont disponibles en vyniles (7", 10", 12") et CD.
Les collaborations avec I-plant ou Weeding Dub témoignent de la proximité avec ces artistes.
Ce second album "Feeding my faith" fait suite à "Livity is my temple" (2009) unanimement
accueilli et reconnu par la scène dub internationale où apparaissaient notamment les chanteurs
Horace Martin, Joseph Cotton, Dan I, Madu Messenger.
WEBCAM HI-FI c'est plus de 200 dates à travers le monde, France bien sûr mais aussi Mexique,
Angleterre, Finlande, Italie, Espagne, Bulgarie, Roumanie, Serbie, Croatie, Holland, Switzerland,
Portugal... aux côtés de King Shiloh, Jah Rej from Jah Works, Kanka, Junior Cony, Jonah Dan,
Mungo's hi-fi, Brain Damage, Vibronics, Blackboard Jungle, Adrian Sherwood...
Fort de cette sérieuse réputation, c'est du haut de sa colline dans le sud ouest de la France, au Huge
studio, que Fredread a une nouvelle fois composé, enregistré et mixé ce nouvel opus.
Solidement ancrée dans les racines de la musique jamaïcaine, sans jamais oublier ce que
"fondations" signifient, la musique de WEBCAM HI-FI demeure synonyme d'un son dynamique,
précis, organique et aux arrangements soignés. Avec un couple basse / batterie puissant, des skanks
tranchants, des cuivres ou une flûte chatoyants, l'alchimie s'opère dès la première écoute.
Au fil des ans, ces recettes ont établi TUBE DUB SOUND RECORDS comme un véritable label de
référence.
Encore une fois, les riddims supportent parfaitement les chanteurs venus d'horizons très variés.
Du rub a dub de El Fata (Nigérian de Londres) à Kiko (chanteur de No More Babylon), du mystique
Lyrical Benjie (Hollande) au singjay jamaïcain Ras Zacharri, de la rencontre des 3 chanteurs
bulgares du Roots Rocket crew Zafayah, Jahmmi Youth & Sen I à Faye Houston (chanteuse du band
anglais Resonators (produit par Nick Manasseh), de l'allemand Mighty Howard (Dubmatix, Irie
Ites)au vétéran jamaïcain Trevor junior, tous contribuent à l'excellence de ce nouvel album.
Toute l'expérience de Fredread transparaît à l'écoute des versions dub où effets analogiques et
syndrum s'enchaînent pour hynopthiser l'auditeur. Les fans de dub apprécieront.
Inspiré par le travail et le message des légendaires King Jammy, Soljie Hamilton, Sly & Robbie,
Dennis Bovell, Lloyd Bullwackies Barnes, Channel One et Roots Radics, Fredread perpétue la
tradition et s'inscrit en défenseur de cette culture roots, rock, reggae & dub, au même titre que des
producteurs actuels comme Dubkasm, Twilight Circus ou Lone Ark.

Biography
WEBCAM HI-FI’s music is written in the jamaican and english tradition of sound systems, a reggae
influenced by 70’s and 80’s jamaican roots, and the sometimes more digital dub develloped in england since
the 90’s. His mentors are as much Sly & Robbie, Black Uhuru, Aswad, Mad Professor, Dub Syndicate aswell
as Twilight Circus or Nucleus Roots, Dubkasm and Dry & Heavy among many.
Since 2004, Fredread records and mixes lots of riddims in his studio, produced for his label Tube
Dub Sound Records. Veteran singers like Madu Messenger, Kenny Knots, Earl 16, Carlton Livingston,
Humble-I, Raking Joe, Ranking Trevor, Tony Tuff, Trevor Junior, Jah Marnyah, Nya Azania, Tena Stelin but
also up and coming Kiko from No More Babylon, Zion Uk…
Webcam Hi-Fi works in a tight collaboration particularly with the producer I-Plant and many artists
from the label Control Tower. A reference for Dub in France.
The second album “Feeding my faith” is a follow on to “Livity is my temple” (2009), unanimously
welcomed and recognized by the international dub scene and where appear the singers Horace Martin,
Joseph Cotton, Dan I, Madu Messenger.
One more time, the riddims support perfectly these singers that come from various horizons. From El
Fata’s rub a dub (London Nigerian) to Kiko (No More Babylon’s singer), from the mystical Lyrical Benjie
(Holland) to Ras Zacharri’s jamaicna singjay, from the encounter of 3 bulgarian singers of the Roots Rocket
Crew Zafayah, Jahmmi Youth & Sen I though to Faye Houston ( singer of the british band Resonators
(produced by Nick Manasseh)), from the german Mighty Howard (Dubmatix, Irie Ites) to the Jamaican
veteran Trevor Junior, they all contribute to the excellence of this new album.
Accompanied by the saxophonist Ras Martin, Webcam Hi-Fi produces onstage as a sound system. At
the same time dub operator and selector, Fredread offers a selection of his riddims, dubplates, releases and
pre-releases, the lot carried by the superbe feminine voice and the positive energy that brings Anna. A well
worked, effective show that’s full of good vibrations and can rise anyone onto the dancefloor.
